General Terms of Service

These terms and conditions govern the use of MEILS's logistics and freight forwarding services. By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these terms and the applicable industry standards and international conventions.

MEILS provides a comprehensive range of logistics services including air freight, sea freight, road freight, customs clearance, and related logistics solutions. All services are subject to these terms and any additional service-specific agreements.

Service Agreement

By engaging MEILS's services, you agree to the following terms:

Service Scope

All logistics services are provided in accordance with industry standards and applicable international conventions including CMR, Warsaw Convention, Hague-Visby Rules, and other relevant regulations.

Liability

Services are subject to standard freight forwarder liability limitations as per FIATA Standard Trading Conditions and industry standards. Liability is limited in accordance with applicable international conventions.

Payment Terms

Payment terms are as agreed in individual service contracts. All charges must be paid in accordance with the agreed schedule. Late payments may incur additional charges as specified in the service agreement.

Insurance

Cargo insurance is available and strongly recommended for all shipments. MEILS can arrange comprehensive cargo insurance coverage on behalf of clients upon request.

Our services are governed by internationally recognized standards and conventions:

  • FIATA Standard Trading Conditions
  • IATA Cargo Agency Regulations
  • CMR Convention (Road Transport)
  • Warsaw Convention (Air Transport)
  • Hague-Visby Rules (Sea Transport)
  • Local and international customs regulations
  • Dangerous goods regulations (IMDG, IATA DGR)

Limitation of Liability

Liability is limited in accordance with applicable international conventions and industry standard terms and conditions. Maximum liability limits apply as per the relevant convention or agreement.

Clients are strongly advised to obtain appropriate insurance coverage for their cargo. MEILS shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special damages arising from the performance of logistics services beyond the limits set forth in applicable conventions.

Force Majeure

MEILS shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, war, terrorism, strikes or industrial disputes, natural disasters, government actions, port congestion, or carrier delays.

In the event of a force majeure situation, MEILS will notify clients as promptly as possible and will make all reasonable efforts to resume performance at the earliest opportunity.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be resolved through negotiation in good faith between the parties. Both parties agree to attempt resolution through direct discussion before pursuing formal proceedings.

If negotiation fails, disputes shall be subject to arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules, with the seat of arbitration in Egypt. The language of arbitration shall be Arabic or English as agreed by the parties.

Amendments

MEILS reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time to reflect changes in law, industry standards, or our business practices. Clients will be notified of material changes with reasonable notice.

Continued use of MEILS services after the effective date of amendments constitutes acceptance of the revised terms and conditions.
